New cloud research from North Bridge Venture Partners shows a 74% rise in SaaS adoption since 2011.
In a study of 1358 respondents, in partnership with Gigaom Research, North Bridge Venture Partners found that 49% use the cloud for generating revenue or product development activities and 45% would like to or already run their business in the cloud. And 35% of businesses reported that innovation or competitive advantage were drivers for cloud adoption.
Mike Schutz, General Manager, Cloud Platform Marketing at Microsoft, says that many “businesses are no longer thinking ‘why cloud?’, but will focus the next 12-24 months figuring out ‘how do I execute a long term cloud strategy?”
